People aren't acting like it's currently 1940, but you can't deny that, even in this very subreddit, there's a significant culture of people who actively want 1940 to come back. I think your friends and relatives might be worried about that sort of thing.
Sure. There are racist whites. I’ve been in this group since late 2020. Still you are rushing to defend any black person no matter what. . It’s not 1940 and they aren’t being oppressed. I’m sorry but they aren’t experiencing stuff my great grandparents did. I am certainly not. So I don’t act like it. So you’ll just defend any black person no matter what. Forgive me if I don’t take seriously the whining of a 25 year old who tells me that white ppl are holding him down. As a kid I knew the Klan existed but didn’t fear them. Definitely wasn’t trying to seek them out either
How did oppression come up in this convo anyway? You brought it up. Is anyone talking about nonwhite characters being a form of oppression? Or is that you using hyperbole again?
I was referring to things my relatives and friends have said. Them saying they are oppressed in their lives
So what did they say? They said that if they don't see a black character on screen it's oppression?
