That’s why they want everyone to drive electric cars too, so if you burn too many carbon credits in a week they can just say “you’re car is inaccessible for the rest of the week because the planet is in danger!”

Perhaps you're right. If you're talking US then I concede. I must point out that there are stories from the other side of the pond that leave me concerned. One being about production workers being advised to wear diapers instead of being allowed toilet breaks like normal human beings.
The expectation should just be for workers to dehydrate themselves so they don't need to use the restroom outside of their break, that's what I did when I worked.

It will because corpos will expect their workers to live close enough to reach the workplace via walk or cycling.
That will never be able to happen unless we get zoning for worker barracks.
