Bullshit. The point of it is restriction to push for births. Porn is just an acceptable starting point but the end goal is what the CCP tried (and failed miserably at), recreation time limits. Birth rates actually went down when the CCP did this.
Line must go up. They lost in the free market and they are seething. Most natalists are Reds, so they copy commie ideas.
They could just criminalize outright, but they instead use it as a honeypot. That's surveillance.
They don't have the balls to actually fight that it's illegal. They would lose the case easily and create a precedent that would kill future censorship attempts.
This "defend kids" ID crap is the perfect way to create a system that can eventually be turned into a restriction. Your ID works to open Call of Duty now, but eventually you'll be told that you simply haven't had enough children to be allowed recreation.
China tried it, and birth rates accelerated their fall that year.
