That's the same system at play. MeToo pushed too hard, women filmed themselves being too evil with it, and there were too many caveats versus their actions and their claims.

However, a society wide problem like that couldn't flip as easy as this, so instead there has just been a gradual pull back into not believing women as much. Which is how we end up here.
