That was native metal though, they didn't have to smelt it, and native iron is pretty soft. And it was in Greenland(which they occupied after the Norse had abandoned it, the Norse were there first, though they didn't occupy the same parts of the island until after the age of exploration) , so they didn't get it until some time after the European Viking age had already ended. I'm always surprised by how quickly hunter-gatherer type peoples take to working metal when they get it. The Sentinelese islanders apparently readily took to working it into spears and such when a steel ship wrecked off their coast.
But they did at least have decent boats, and developed a diet that gets enough vitamin C without eating any fruit. But you can't really expect a people that sparsely populated to develop much, they live in what would be post-apocalyptic conditions for most other cultures.
The argument is that the hospitable environment never created evolutionary pressure to move beyond nigger tier IQ.

Their evolution prioritized survival skills instead of intelligent planning. And they still aren't as retarded as the average subsaharan.
