I’ve met some Africans and am aware of others who say they were better off under British rule. Granted, the BBC or guardian won’t talk to them but I wonder how many agree with that sentiment. I feel like it’s a substantial number
Most Africans probably realize that they will be metaphorical slaves one way or another, so the choice between the stability of British rule or an insane Warlord/Dictator is pretty easy.
The only ones who would think otherwise are the ones fantasizing themselves as the Warlord or his lackey for evil purposes.

Very good point. Makes me think of Idi Amin. I’d take the British all day every day over him
