TL;DR AT BOTTOM.

Haven't seen anyone talking about this absolutely pointless bit of internet drama yet, and it's been a few days now. It's some of the most retarded drama ever, so I thought people might get a kick out of it.

It also serves some valuable lessons. Lessons we all know already, so it's preaching to the choir, but it still really illustrates how you NEVER BOW TO THE MOB. This person I'm about to talk about canceled themselves. If they'd just ignored the retards instead of crashing out, everything would have been fine. This was some of the most brutal one-guying I've seen.

Anyway, there's a VTuber named Zentraya. There are some issues with her too, but I'll save that for the end, as I want to focus on the current drama first. Zen debuted a new model, which probably cost her $15k or more. It looks amazing, and the technical aspects are crazy good. An example of the new model here. Well, like two freaks on Twitter - pronouns in bio and stuff - kicked up a storm saying she was "Nazi-baiting" and "fascist coded" and stuff. It's basic anime military, Azur Lane, military commander stuff. It's also a remake of an older model of hers. Plenty of VTubers have military-themed models, and some even use Nazi models. Zen is big, though, and has caved to leftists in the past, so the tourists saw an easy mark. And were right.

Zen crashes out. First mistake was addressing the issue, but then it gets so much worse. She at least stands up for herself at first, calls her haters "snowflakes" and "woke." Which would be fine, if she could stand by it. But she can't, the rest of the cotton candy brigade (I love this term for the trannies, saw it recently and need to use it more) and other alphabet people start piling on, doing the classic "bad look" thing. Zen apologizes for her "language"...and it's all fucking over from there.

She apologized, but then they're still piling on of course, so she's also lashing out in response at them. But also caving, saying it's too much drama. Claims she's getting rid of the model. Again, we're talking more money than most people have in savings. And she claims - I say claim because she's been less than consistent - she's scrapping it.

It's ridiculously pointless. Everyone but a few freaks had her back. All the biggest VTubers who dared to touch the issue are on Zen's side. All the comments are on Zen's side. A bunch of VTubers - big and small - are donning officer caps and uniforms. If this isn't all an attention farming op, this is one of the worst cases of getting one-guy'd I've ever fucking seen. It's a small group of people trying to farm Zen for Virtue Points, while everyone else is just like "badass model." All her fans thought it was really cool. Again, if this isn't an op, it's absolute weak bullshit, and really, really, really poor mental.

All the haters got blown out over and over, most deactivated replies, and most fled to Bluesky. And Zen is still somehow losing to them. Self-inflicted wound.

Anyway, brutal fucking one-guying. You can see why I call it the dumbest drama ever. There was no reason to pay any attention to the tiny amount of haters in the first place.

Lastly, I did say I'd address Zen's past failings. It's not the main focus, but I know people will want to know. Firstly, yeah, "Zen" is almost certainly piloted by a dude, as I understand. Personally I don't care. That's just good business, and the tech aspects are really cool, like the TTS (Speech-to-Text-to-Speech, technically) is an interesting effect. But, yeah, that's probably a dude farming the internet. Which makes the weak crash out even worse, though.

More relevant, though, is that Zen has shown shitlib signs in the past. People change, and 2020 was a weird time, but she made some tweets about BLM and St. Floyd because, something like, "some things you just need to talk about, even if you're apolitical." So, yeah, it makes perfect sense why this is happening.

We'll see how it all shakes out, and if the model is really scrapped or not. The funniest outcome would be a huge shift to the right out of frustrating. Not the likeliest, but people do change, and drastically.

TL;DR: Big VTuber Zentraya got a new military-themed model, a tiny number of freaks lost their minds and called her a Nazi before getting ratiod and fleeing to Bluesky, Zen lashed out, then apologized, even though everyone but the haters backed Zen, and now the model may get scrapped. Thousands of dollars down the drain because of weak mental and inability to handle the internet. One-guy world championship candidate.
