I mean the Teamsters are always going to try to argue for higher wages for their members, because that also results in more money for union dues. Plus, the pre-lockdown wages at UPS before the new contract were less than what a burger flipper makes nowadays, which means that nobody would load trucks for $14 an hour when they could work at Wendy's for $17 an hour or whatever it is.
The irony of course is that while my pay rate has basically doubled, inflation has essentially made that worthless so my situation hasn't really changed.
I have noticed more white people getting hired though since ICE took away some of the illegals that were working there.
