Russians have ulterior motives for this. Russians perpetuate the "mah evil nazis" myth and 6 gorrilion to distract from the fact that any atrocity the Nazis were accused of, the Russians actually did it 10x worse. Russia is fine with the fake WWII narrative because it largely ignores all the evils committed by Russia.
You felt for it again. Those were not Russians in ethnic sense... They declared as Russians, of course, for all the known reasons.
I fell for nothing. I know it all. But Russians refuse to say it was jews. They have an easy out. The Russian government could teach Russians that the Bolsheviks were all jews and that they committed tons of atrocities but it wasn't Russians who did those things so don't worry about it etc... But Russians don't. The Russians take pride in the Soviet history and see it as their own. That is the position the government has taken and what they teach people in Russia. Of course, arguably, that's because Russia is still run by jews but it'd be nice if the Russian people could figure shit out.
They did. Most of them. Educated, self-thinkning ones at least. Most of them do not even care, but those who are even a little aware of their surounding acctualy do know. Unfortunately, the catle is in majority, like everywhere else. There are a certain conspiracies about sinking the Kursk submarine (mutiny) that are a whole new level of rabbit hole...
That also has to do with them discovering so many dead Russians from it so...
