I liked early SNL but their skits were often "hit or miss". You'd find them funny or just flat. They did a lot of drugs back then, eh? Things that are funny when you're smoking tons of pot in the writing room may not be so the day after.
I do agree though, that lineup was their "Golden Age" for sure. It really fell apart badly after that.
