To play Devil's Advocate, do Forensic Psychiatrists EVER recommend the Death Penalty for any criminals they assess?
Other than the raging leftist ones that would advocate for the death of White hetero Christian RW men accused of political violence & thought crimes?
I didn't read the article, but it seems the psychiatrist is specifically opposing Capital Punishment here, not necessarily life in prison vs being deemed Unfit to Stand Trial/ Criminally Insane.
Though it's not much a leap to suggest they would also advocate for the latter, only committing him to a mental institution for an undefined term.
