We got a lot of growing up to do and there’s still … a lot of men who do not feel like they can be led by a woman and we saw it.

Not "they," the country. A lot of men do not feel like the country can be led by a woman.

But of course Big Mike wouldn't be able to begin to imagine doing something for the good of one's country rather than just the good of oneself.
