At least Trump has been fairly consistent on the H1B bullshit since the 2024 election campaign.

He talked about "needing to import a lot of people" and gave his explicit support to the H1B program several times on the campaign trail or shortly thereafter.

It stood out as against his message & the desires of his base then.

Unfortunately it also seems like one of the few campaign promises he actually kept.
