Amazon had mass layoffs a couple of days ago (apparently 14k are already gone and up to 30k are planned, all corporate jobs) and it's slowly coming out that they gutted their game development studios.
They ended support for their MMO New World: https://www.videogameschronicle.com/news/amazon-making-significant-cuts-to-games-business-moving-away-from-mmos/
They also cancelled an upcoming LotR MMO: https://www.videogameschronicle.com/news/amazons-lord-of-the-rings-mmo-has-reportedly-also-been-cancelled/
Instead of big games they're apparently focusing on their cloud gaming service Luna and small AI-slop party games.
AI replacing all content creators soon is going to be a huge positive for content. Why?
Well, because all the mainstream slop most content creators are creating in every industry from video gaming to movies is garbage. AI will do just as good of a job. This means the only content humans will be able to create and profit from is content better than mainstream AI slop that is equivalent to mainstream slop today.
I think AI is going to create a situation where all the talent actually creates quality content instead of just coasting at a big corp while letting their talent rot.
