A ton of the the Paycheck Protection Program money went to a bunch of new businesses like "Deshawn's Barber and Bait Shop" "Shaniqua's Nail Salon" that employed 30 people each, often employing other entrepreneurs who also ran barber shops and nail salons. These aren't DEI hires, they are up and coming business minded individuals rising to meet the needs of the community. These fledgling businesses did so well many of the owners bought Hellcats and regularly took vacations in Miami Beach. "Luxury" restaurants in Atlanta even ran out of shrimp due to the large number of successful new business owners.
They did so well the government didn't even ask for that money back.
