I got part way into Tucker's episode today and the guy mentioned Kabbalah. I had been curious about it, think I saw Charls Carrol mention it but never watched him long.
I figured it was some Jewish heresy like Christian gnosticism but GPT says its accepted in mainstream Orthodox Judaism but is only taught to like 10% of people? Is that right? It just sounds like the typical hidden knowledge type shit, but its very weird to hear that its accepted in mainline rabbinic Judaism. Anyone know about this?
You went out of your way to gather your sources instead of disapraging me. I appreciate it. I owe those links a check.
It would be pretty hypocritical for me to disparage someone who probably holds similar beliefs to ones I used to hold. If 3 years ago you told me I would believe in god and simulation theory I would have laughed in your face. Surprisingly those two go together quite well.
If I may add a couple thoughts. Depending on the study, 10-15% of people who “die” and are revived or simply almost die by some trauma or disease, have nde’s of some sort which ends up being a shit ton of people who’ve had these experiences.
I’ve read or listened to 200-300 experiences by now. The experiences are different but some aspects recur frequently.
The most common aspects reported by a large portion of them are that the experiences are not only real but are more real than our earthly life. They see/feel/hear things that aren’t possible to describe.
People who meet a being or presence overwhelmingly say that the purpose of life is “love”. It’s a bit cryptic but best I can tell that means to just not be a dick basically and help others when you can.
Surprisingly a lot of atheists/agnostics meet who they perceive to be Jesus. I have thoughts on why that is but I’ve not read a single account where those people claim Jesus even mentioned the Bible or sin or anything like that. He usually mentions love and sometimes a specific purpose or mission a person has in life.
I appreciate your open mindedness. People are busy and don’t have time to do deep dives on everything. If you don’t look at all those resources it’s completely fine. Everyone is on their own path, keep your mind and your heart open especially when challenges or hardships come your way. Do a nice deed for someone, doesn’t matter how insignificant it might seem, a small act of kindness can have huge ripple effects.
My door for conversation is always open
