It all started when they expanded the term British. At one point, even Yorkshiremen might not be considered fully British. Scotsmen were right out. I knew something was up during the vote to leave the UK and Scottish friends were referring to themselves as British.

Indians were Indians and then said they were British. They made sure to drink tea in the heat, and even bragged about it. So, to ease matters they got the term. It then spread.

Now suddenly Indians are British, Afghanis are British, and Yorkshiremen are not British and need to get out. I genuinely hope what that little Dundee girl started actually keep going, because the assholes in London are at it again.
