So a 50 cal in the lower torso blows it up entirely and obviously rips through the spine. A 30-06 into a human neck does nothing except punch a hole in it. I know a 30-06 is less powerful than a 50 cal but watching ballistic videos on Youtube strongly suggests that a 30-06 is anything but a weak round. So it getting deflected by the spine is not exactly believable.
