The fact that they were employed in these positions of trust in the first place, and can carry on trooning kids or lobbying for gay porn in libraries as long as they didn't tweet about Charlie Kirk, is the real symptom of disease in your society. Firing only means something if it reflects a change in a wider set of US social values and I don't see evidence of that (online, at least).
In the few disavowals and firings that have happened so far, it very much stinks of 'hey when you shoot back, please don't do it at our building, we already sacked that troon (our new troon replacement kept all his rantings to a private discord so he's clean)'.
