I hate what Major Cons have become. I still work as a vendor at the small local ones by my place. Those are nice.
Major cons are a temporary theme park like Universal or Disney, not an actual convention. I've worked at both so I know.
The actual big conventions are still fun. Portland Retro Gaming Expo is coming up, and I still want to work it.

When everything went corporate, the magic went away. 2012 Emerald City Comicon or PAX was not 2016 versions of themselves it was very obvious.
Yes! In my area they used to do a Sci Fi Expo and Comic Con along with a fan days. They got bought out and you could definitely tell the difference
