While it may seem like it, their ignorance and simpleness is anything but blissful. They are all dopamine addicts, constantly craving stimuli and building up their tolerance of it to such an extent that they will destroy themselves just to feel things.

Its why so many spend all their freetime doom scrolling social media. Its why they are always buried in smut novels or chasing dick. Its why they build a social circle so massive that their phones never stop buzzing, so much so that they don't even answer most and just enjoy receiving the message regardless of content.

They are dull because their need for this high has become so overpowering they cannot do anything else in life but chase it for the quickest hit possible to stave off the withdrawal. They can't develop a hobby, because that requires investment. They can't commit to a LTR, the high of "new love" fades too quick.

In the same way that you can watch an alcoholic go from the fun guy at the bar to someone who lacks any thoughts beyond getting drunker, long since forgetting he used to get drunk for a purpose, a woman without a constant stream of dopamine hits finds herself getting "depressed" or "anxious." These are the same as that drunk's shakes.
