I have some vacation time on Friday so I’ll take my PS4 to GameStop to trade in (since they sell sports cards now I’ll get some packs with store credit). Once I got a gaming laptop I was spending more and more time playing games on it to the point where I was only using my PS4 to watch streaming. Now that I have chrome cast I really don’t have a need for it anymore. I’m officially in the PC Master Race. I’ve always bought Sony since I was a senior in high school and my dad said if I got a PS1 he would buy my first game (terrible deal since he bought Riven).
My main reason for getting a gaming laptop was that I couldn’t get quest mods in PS4 Skyrim. Now, if I ever come across a PS2 I’d happily buy that again but I saw one at a game store with 5 games for 700. From now on it’s Steam for me. I think I may do a playthrough of old Sierra games as well
Honestly, I've never found it worthwhile to sell old consoles unless it was at Collector's prices. You will be getting a pittance for it unless it was released within the last year or so.
You already own it, and all the games you had for it. Keep it in storage until the urge strikes you to replay some of those, and save yourself the money of needing to rebuy it on PC (if its been ported). And modern consoles are fully functional entertainment centers as well, so you could hold onto it as literally just a DVD/Bluray player for your TV (important as disc drives on PC aren't standard anymore).
