I have some vacation time on Friday so I’ll take my PS4 to GameStop to trade in (since they sell sports cards now I’ll get some packs with store credit). Once I got a gaming laptop I was spending more and more time playing games on it to the point where I was only using my PS4 to watch streaming. Now that I have chrome cast I really don’t have a need for it anymore. I’m officially in the PC Master Race. I’ve always bought Sony since I was a senior in high school and my dad said if I got a PS1 he would buy my first game (terrible deal since he bought Riven).
My main reason for getting a gaming laptop was that I couldn’t get quest mods in PS4 Skyrim. Now, if I ever come across a PS2 I’d happily buy that again but I saw one at a game store with 5 games for 700. From now on it’s Steam for me. I think I may do a playthrough of old Sierra games as well
I'm with you. Left PS I think in 2022, my PS4 still had some good value. It was clear nothing was coming. Built a PC in the smallest way I could with extremely modest components. Only thing I've done to it since is add storage. Currently have zero intent to upgrade it even after three years. I just configure the games to work and use a controller on a TV most of the time. Got a trackball for the rest of the time. PCs were running away from what I wanted in the days of new GPUs every six months, everything was KB/M only even if there was a console version, etc. but they came back and consoles just got worse in the meantime.
Still have my Xbox One X, but I never play it. I hang on in case I want to go in some old game. Also a Switch that I play slightly more than the Xbox. Contemplated the Switch 2, but probably not there either. Not any time soon at least.
