Ortodox churches don't do big events like that but we do celebrate a lot of saint days. We had Virgin Mary celebration on the 15th and we have another one on September 9th.
Sounds good. I go to a Lutheran Church (conservative sect) and since the vast majority have German heritage we always do Oktoberfest and invite the local community.
