Also, this mother tongue stuff is giving me serious Skull Face vibes. Destroy the language, destroy the people.

As to cultural erasure, look up how many German books (as well as others) the allies purged after winning. It's absolutely wild, and something I only learned about recently. Allies put the Nazis to shame, when it came to censorship.
