On one hand it would be better because the power would be removed from some activists in black robes and returned to the states, closer to the people. On the other hand, like you say, most states would legalize it (likely even ones that lean red) due to the decade of normalization already under our belts.
There really needs to be consequences for this sort of tactic of making blatantly illegal rulings that eventually get overturned as a sort of normalization tactic to force the Overton window to move.
The consequence is hanging from lampposts. Our ancestors understood this. But we’ve been poisoned for 80 years and white men now have half the testosterone we did in 1945, so no one will ever do anything to stop any of this.
