Why the hell would Ice Cube do this instead of a final Friday movie?
If it were me, like if I was IC, and I had nothing to lose/it wouldn't hurt my existing revenue streams, I'd probably do it for the easy money. A Friday sequel would require some thought and effort, and if it failed, that could be a real problem for me.
This is a very astute observation. He can make as much slop like this as he wants, it doesn't matter. Hell, he made some kids movies like 15 years ago or so, that nobody remembers. But if he fucks up the Friday movies, that will stay with him forever.
iirc, he was complaining he got taken off a film cause he wouldn't take the covid jab. might have gotten blacklisted
