Just a well made movie imo.
I have no idea what to write as a review. If you liked the first one you’ll probably like this too. Nothing super gay or woke imo, just some excellent characters in interesting situations. A couple audible “what the fuck am I watching” were elicited.
Im looking forward to the sequels, in spite of the announced director for the next one (though I’ve not seen anything she’s made, she did make the Marvels…)
I’ll echo some of your sentiments, indeed the camera work during the action scenes can be a bit jarring - it sometimes feels like a “kill-cam” in a video game, and the main thing it felt like this movie was missing (to me) was the fantastic music/sound design of the first one. The sound design holds up pretty well but boy was I missing the score (mainly the piano) from Days.
The world opens up quite a bit as the movie progresses. I hope you share your thoughts when you’re done! I was also impressed by Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s acting (frankly all the characters are well acted!).
Forgive the tangent (ignore it if you want! lol) but do you often not watch a whole movie in one sitting? I feel like that would get in the way of the experience!
