well, cops aren't a monolithic global hivemind (yet?) so there'll always be examples of just poor dudes who just took on a job and now have to face the worst crimes.

the way cops are in places like the UK though, where they would actively release this woman to avoid facing reality, and then find a mean twitter post made by a White English man so they can knock down his door and arrest him instead... those aren't humanized cops, those are soulless mercenaries on a quest for self-genocide.
