You are right that a lot of kids lost non-verbal communications but many lost the ability to verbally communicate to others. The lockdowns created something akin to an environmental based non-verbal autism. As a replacement, these robots will make it worst by a long shot. As a slow progression to talking to other kids, it would be a great first step to get them to communicate again.
