I have mixed feelings about this. On one hand, the entire film is basically just shitting on the Chip N' Dale: Rescue Rangers cartoon and fandom like Disney does to everything else. Pairing Gadget up with Zipper was just one of many steps in the humiliation ritual because the writers damn well knew it would disgust and annoy the old cartoon's fans.

But on the other...the fandom has a really creepy and unhealthy obsession with Gadget. Supposedly, there's even a religion in Russia devoted to her! Which...does a lot to make me curb my sympathies.
