I can imagine a male sports league behaving that way. Look at the way Tom Brady was treated his last couple years in the NFL. Or Brett Favre. Hell, look at any dude in his 30s or 40s still doing the sport he is in, especially if he does better than the young black men. America is an r select country now with all that entails.
