Jokes aside, I don't see how it's inaccurate, as the mother of God in Christ Jesus and therefore the chosen of the Heavenly Father, King of Heaven (Rex Caelestis) to bear His Son on Earth, she is the Queen (and maybe technically the Queen Mother, it's a bit confusing, granted).
I'm not an expert on theology in any means and I doubt I'll be able to change your mind on this, there are some resources and even open forums for debate if that's your thing. My own take on it is it's less polytheism in the Greek and Roman sense and more like a Confucian "heavenly bureaucracy" where each of the Saints and Archangels has their own area of expertise. But, again, nobody really knows.
In any event, Mary is holy, but she is not God, nor "a" god(dess) in any understanding, even though she is with God in Heaven. Joseph is also venerated and has his own day. Maybe if you feel so inclined you could check out the festivities at your local parish. I'll grant the Protestant Reformation didn't just happen for no reason at all, but neither did the preceding millennia of tradition that endure to this day.
