My understanding is the cruise ship thing is pretty economical for old folks. I think there are ships dedicated to it. It is just lack of family, relatively poor medical care and cramped living quarters, not to mention that the things a basically barges that are reliant on underwater wings for stability, which only works when moving, which can't happen if the ship has mechanical trouble. Instability is bad for the old.
2000, even 3000, a month for an room and medical care for someone in need of a lot of care is a good deal in my opinion.
