At this point they should restore absolute monarchy to the Chrysanthemum Throne at a minimum

Nah , don't restore the monarchy(the current royal family is a bit woke)

Restore the Shogunate or military junta. . It wasn't the monarchy that made Japan great, it was the Shogunate (samurai or military government). Most of the time the royal family were more like religious figure heads. The actual leaders doing the decision making in the country have been the military class for most of Japan's history
