It was a crosscountry Greyhound bus (which subsequently went under, likely at least in part due to this bad PR, leaving virtually no East-West travel options besides plane, car and a horrifically expensive and slow train that departs every 3 days).

The decapitator was a schizo Jungle Asian IIRC.
