I don't have any self-control and can't indulge in escapism or any of my own hobbies without becoming consumed by them and giving all of my free time over to them, and if I can't do it then neither can you AND THAT MAKES YOU THE PROBLEM!
That's just walking in to a bar and shouting that at every patron in there. Plenty of people can demonstrably enjoy things in moderation, even to the benefit of their general wellbeing.
