Its sad you have to do basic research just to keep your accounts safe. I feel for people who are not so technically literate. Some people can play musical instruments, I cant do that shit.

But thats not what concerns me, what concerns me is where is the data getting tapped.

Im thinking it has something to do with china basically getting into everything.

https://www.reuters.com/business/media-telecom/chinese-hack-us-telecoms-compromised-more-firms-than-previously-known-wsj-says-2025-01-05/

A Chinese hack compromised even more U.S. telecoms than previously known, including Charter Communications (CHTR.O), opens new tab, Consolidated Communications (CCII.UL) and Windstream, the Wall Street Journal reported late on Saturday, citing people familiar with the matter. Hackers also exploited unpatched network devices from security vendor Fortinet and compromised large network routers from Cisco Systems (CSCO.O), opens new tab, the newspaper reported.

In addition to deep intrusions into AT&T (T.N), opens new tab and Verizon (VZ.N), opens new tab, hackers pierced other networks belonging to Lumen Technologies (LUMN.N), opens new tab and T-Mobile (TMUS.O), opens new tab, according to the report.

China denied engaging in such actions and accused the United States of peddling disinformation.

There is growing concern about the size and scope of the reported Chinese hacking into U.S. telecommunications networks and questions about when companies and the government will be able to assure Americans about the issue.

This kinda makes sense too, china loves their databases on people, they have historically used this information to blackmail and control people, like all governments I guess.

My phone being all weird again too. Recently my web browser has started to close itself in the middle of the night, closing all my tabs. Somehow a "device finder was turned on automatically due to high traffic area" and despite opting out, location is constantly pinging if turned on.

The other morning, all the sound died on my phone and wouldnt come back without a restart, never seen that before.

Im prolly just being paranoid again though.
