Say the people trying to both make it dictate everything, and erase its meaning completely, all at the same time. Similar to the 'knowing your character' bit, you have to have a baseline understanding of sex to know what it dictates, what it should and shouldn't dictate. This nonsense does way more to limit people than just letting people be. Of course anyone can contribute, and not everything is dictated. These are the people trying to destroy all that in the name of Progress.
