I have a month-long stay planned for this summer in my target area, and if that works out well, I sell the house, move, and with those funds, buy two houses in a privada, rent one, keep it for family and friends once in a while, and yeah, life without communism or invasion.
In most circumstances I'd say yes but I'm really going to Mexico in order to integrate into their society, along with my wife. The fewer homies there are around me, the better.
The worst thing to do is create a neighborhood that lends itself too well as a target for reprisals if things get expensive over there.
Plus, I'm going to a place where there are extremely few if any people from up North, so you have to be fluent. And if you're fluent, you might as well pick any place that fits what you look for. My target area is far from the ocean, for example.
