Once a guy has the rage filter activated it's not possible to get even the simplest concepts through the shields. They shift from reading and understanding sentences (relative to their IQ/whether they're ESL to begin with) to aggressively hunting for single words to fixate on, making up things you didn't actually say, reading your mind to decide what you actually think, etc. It's really fascinating to watch but really irritating when the grownups are talking and they start the raving.
