Nope, all German POWs. May were kept in the US and treated perfectly well (unless they attempted to escape). It was not uncommon for German troops to simply go to town with an escort to have dinner.
I'm not sidelining anything as reprisals.
Tell me, if Auschwitz was just a happy-go-lucky-hotel-for-jews-that-hitler-loves-so-much... why did one of the Czech NatSoc's tell his victim, "You heard what happened at Auschwitz? Well, I was there. I'm going to make you wish you were at Auschwitz." and then proceeded to literally crucify his victim.
Now, why oh why, would someone cite Auschwitz as a justification for unspeakable brutality, if it was just a resort town with a train depot?
Maybe the reprisal killings were in response to something. I wonder if it had anything to do with the unapologetic attitude the Nazis themselves explicitly had towards mass murder.
Doesn't make the killings right, but it does kill your argument that Nazbois are just gud bois who dindu nuffin pretty stupid.
