🤝🇺🇸 There was a time—maybe not perfect, maybe not without politics—but a time when a Democrat and a Republican could disagree without trying to destroy each other. When we didn’t call each other enemies, or traitors, or “vermin.”
When a man like Joe Biden could help bring two people together in love, across party lines. And when Cindy McCain could look back on that kindness, that decency, and say, “thank you” with grace.
That time feels like a foreign country now.
Today, one party is still trying to live by the values this image represents: dignity, decency, shared service. The other? It’s off the rails.
Chasing conspiracy theories, attacking the justice system, calling cancer diagnoses “PR stunts,” and clapping for dictators. They wrap themselves in flags but spit on everything that flag is supposed to stand for.
The divide isn’t about left vs. right anymore. It’s about reality vs. delusion. It’s about compassion vs. cruelty.
One party still wants to govern. The other wants to burn it all down, blame everyone else, and claim victimhood while they victimize the vulnerable.
We are supposed to be on the same side. Not in policy, but in principle. We’re supposed to protect each other. Uphold the Constitution.
Lead with integrity. But the only people still doing that are the ones who are mocked as “radical” simply because they believe in facts, in democracy, in being a good damn human being.
So if the choice is between red hats and the rule of law—between chaos and community—I know which side I’m on.
