When I was in college I was attempting to become a police officer. I was doing a ride-along with one of the campus police men, and we got to talking about how most "raped" was just drugged up and drunken sorority girls making really stupid decisions and trying to throw the men that they hooked up with under the bus. The police were just mentally exhausted dealing with these girls. There was a ton of cats that wandered around the apartment complex I live then and I asked where those cats had come from. The police man got quiet, let out a sigh, and told me college girls would frequently take cats in when they were kittens but as soon as they had to go home or go off to have their careers or whatever they would abandon them. The cats were wandering around the apartment complex is looking for their mothers. Between that and hookup culture the belief that the majority of women have maternal instinct died for me in college.
