Why would the English take slaves from Africa if they believed that Slaves only come from Eastern Europe?

In fact, why did they abolish slavery at all if the English, to this very day, still believe that Slavs deserve to be enslaved, since that's their name?

Why would Americans free the blacks and still call them niggers?
