What's weird about the "N word" is that it wasn't considered offensive at one point. I don't know exactly what happened, but at some point they decided it was offensive. Then they started using the term "negro" and "colored."
These became offensive to, so we went to "black." Now we're back to calling black people "colored" or to be specific "people of color." What fucking nonsense.
It gets even weirder when you realize nigger is simply "black" in Latin (though the Latin spelling is niger but niger in Latin is pronounced nigger not Nigh-ger so "niger" as pronounced nigger was written as nigger so in english it was pronounced nigger which is really the latin pronunciation for the word "black").
So, the irony is that black people got mad at being called the Latin word for black but they have no problems being called the English word for black. Also, negro is just black in Spanish.
Somehow the Spanish and Latin words for black are offensive to blacks but the English word for black isn't offensive.
