Trump momentarily pondered during a stump speech if water damages magnets, truly a stupid moment, but ultimately meaningless. Many people make much more impactful mistakes everyday
He's clearly talking about electromagnetic catapults on US Naval vessels. And he's 100% correct. If you wet the electric field generator your magnet no longer works.
So, if you get a leak through your ship, and onto the wrong deck, you may not be able to load weapons or launch planes.
He likely read a report stating several reasons why we didn't use the EM cats and lifts or all-electric boats in the Navy. One of those being susceptibility and different performance under water damage.
That's why ever hack outlet in the world had to cut his remarks down to 30 seconds and completely remove the opening context of them; because, Trump was right again and they wanted to pretend he wasn't so they could riff on him for 5 minutes.
When COVID hit I got in an accident and had to be at home for months straight. I did nothing but watch full Trump press conferences. The press always does this. Cuts out 30 seconds from 4 hours and pretends they just "informed" you of a "Trump gaffe."
It's a game. It's retarded. People like Mark Carney are proud they know how to play the game. That they're evil. That they're personality and career is built exclusively on lies.
I did not know the full context and I appreciate it. Still not a great quote, but a lot more intelligent than the cut down version. I really don't hate MSM enough.
