The pencil-dick school rep actually says it! In the same breath he says there ARE other classes that offer an opt-out, then says that THIS class had no such option because it is "mandated by the State". That there were too many families wanting to opt-out and the schools didn't have the resources to accommodate them.

Just let the students spent the time in the gym, library or study hall that is easily staffed! QED. But the rights of the kids are not important to Maryland teachers, they are merely fodder for the grooming machine.
You can bet that any kid whose first or last name is "Mohammod" was allowed to opt-out though, I'd bet the farm on that!
Anyhow, this is not about teaching or learning, it's about showing p0rnography, including kiddyp0rn, to 6 year-olds. THAT is what we right-thinking people object to. Forcing them, brainwashing them, grooming them is the goal.
If it is mandated by the state, then that state is in dereliction of duty towards its populace. The evidence is that there were too many opting out (a peaceful and quiet protest) to "accommodate": The populace has spoken, and it is not being served adequately.
