Oh for sure, but the function is the same still. Imagine if tomorrow every player in the Major leagues was blacklisted and the MLB pulled all players from the minors. Kept their ticket prices the same, and kept the minor leaguer's salary the same.

Suddenly minor league teams go bankrupt, good players have no job, the owners get richer and the games get worse.
