Question is, was Murray sent in there to popularize this view that Rogan / JRE needs balance or are they trying to capitalize on his argument.

I think this was an orchestrated strategy all along to attack JRE and Murray was sent in there to make this balance/experts issue the focus. Apparently Murray was trying to go on solo and Joe insisted on a Dave Smith sparring partner; Murray v Joe would have gone the opposite way.
